week one ...
Well to be more precise it's actually week 116, that is since we bought the land. It's taken that long to get the final planning permission, faf around with electric cables, flash floods and sewer pipes and generally lurch from one mini crisis to another. See our 'how we got here' page for a brief run down of what has taken us quite so long... But we are here at last and at 7.30am on Thursday 20th September 2007 our ground workers appeared complete with a track digger and dumper truck and got to work leveling the already part leveled site and building up the front section. By the second day the footings were pegged out and marked with spray paint. This was the first time we could really see the shape, size and position of the house. We spent the weekend putting up a canopy over the caravan door, filling in the sewer trench and walking in and out of the imaginary rooms!
